I was asked to join in on a fun little project, personal finance confessions, started by BeThisWay. Please join in and share your own confession, you don’t have to link back here, but it would be nice. If you do I’ll post a link to yours… And if you don’t have a blog, please share your confession in the comments!
Forgive me, for I have sinned.
Not really, but isn’t that how confessions are supposed to start?
OK, so here goes…hubby and I just bought a camper, a travel trailer to be exact. Should we have bought one right now? No, probably not. Financially we can afford it, but it may not be the best decision financially.
The camper we purchased books for almost $20K on NADA, but we paid $11,850, including the entire hitch package for hubby’s truck and the electrical box. I think that’s a pretty good deal. We’re going through the dealership for our financing. I did check my credit union and bank first to get several different interest rate options. The dealership had the best interest and length for the loan.
I know we’ll get a lot of use out of the camper, but it is an extra $165 per month that probably should go towards our debt reduction and an emergency fund.
Oh well, we hopefully have made a purchase that will be enjoyed for a long time to come.
What’s your finance confession?
